Your School Safety

How Safe Is Your School?

Every school has strengths. Every school has gaps.

The difference is whether safety is measured, scored, and continuously improved — or left to chance. This is where your school's safety journey begins.

The National 4-Level Safety Standard℠

Your School's Safety — Standardized & Scored.

Proprietary. Evidence-Based. Continuously Improved.

Most schools rely on reactive safety plans and compliance checklists that sit in a binder. The POSI 4-Level Safety Standard℠ replaces that with a structured, repeatable system that assesses your school across four distinct levels — physical infrastructure, behavioral climate, first responder coordination, and safety technology.

Each level builds on the last. Together, they generate a Dynamic Safety Score℠ — a single verified number that tells you exactly where your school stands, what to improve, and how to track progress over time.

How It Works

The Complete Cycle — Continuous Safety.

School safety isn't a one-time audit. It's a continuous operating system. The POSI cycle moves your school from assessment to action to reassessment — closing the loop so safety improves every quarter, every year.

🔒
Private by Default. Public Only When You Choose.

Your Dynamic Safety Score℠ and SafeSchool REPORT℠ are visible only to your team during the improvement process. No public exposure of gaps. No media risk. When you're ready — and only if you choose — opt in to display a verified safety badge that builds trust with families.

Does Your School Website Have a Safety Page?

We'll Build Your School's Safety Page — Free.

Most school websites have a lunch menu, a calendar, and a staff directory. Very few have a dedicated safety page. Yet it's the first place parents look after a national incident. We build a professional, verified safety page for your school — at no cost, with no technical work required on your end.

Common Questions

Questions About Your School's Safety.

What parents, administrators, and community members ask most.

How do I know if my school is actually safe? +
Most schools have safety plans — but very few have measured, scored, and verified their safety performance. A plan is a document. A safety score tells you whether that plan is working. The POSI standard evaluates your school across 94 specific safety zones and generates a Dynamic Safety Score℠ so you know exactly where your school stands — not what someone hopes it looks like.
I'm a parent. Can I request an assessment for my child's school? +
Yes. Anyone who cares about a school's safety can initiate the process — parents, teachers, community members, or administrators. You can claim any U.S. school through our platform and begin the conversation about measuring safety. The assessment itself is implemented by a designated school contact, but the request can come from anyone.
Does this replace our school's existing safety plan? +
No — it validates and strengthens your existing plan. Think of it as the difference between having a fitness plan and actually knowing your health metrics. The POSI assessment tells you whether your current plan is working, where the gaps are, and what to prioritize next. It doesn't replace what you've built. It measures whether it's working.
Will our school's safety data be made public? +
Never — unless you choose to share it. Your Dynamic Safety Score℠ and SafeSchool REPORT℠ are private by default. Only your designated team can see the results. No scores are published without your explicit opt-in. No data is shared with third parties. All information is encrypted in transit and stored securely. You control visibility at every step.
Is there really no cost? What's the catch? +
There is no catch. The Level 3 Safety Partnership Assessment℠ is a complimentary service of our nonprofit. POSI's mission is to standardize school safety nationally — the no-cost assessment is how we introduce the framework and begin building a national safety baseline. No sales pitch. No follow-up pressure. Just a clear, verified picture of where your school stands.
