How Safe Is Your Child’s School? Search Now | POSI

Half of America Is Connected to a K-12 School. Until Now, None of Them Could Look Up How Safe It Is.

More than 50 million children attend K-12 schools in the United States. Add their parents, grandparents, teachers, and the staff inside those buildings, and roughly half the U.S. population has a direct, personal stake in school safety.

Yet ask any one of them how safe their school actually is, and the answer is the same: nobody really knows. Safety is claimed. It isn’t measured. It isn’t standardized. And until now, it could not be looked up.

Protecting Our Students, Inc. (POSI) changed that.

A Standard That Didn’t Exist — So We Built It

POSI’s framework breaks every K-12 school down into 94 Safety Zones℠ — the granular, measurable points that determine whether a school is genuinely prepared across physical, procedural, and cultural dimensions. Those zones roll up into the 4-Level Safety Standard℠, and together they produce the Dynamic Safety Score℠: a comparable, trackable metric that finally answers the question every parent has been asking.

This is the structural standard for K-12 safety in America. It did not exist before POSI built it.

For Schools: Self-Assessment, All Year Long

Schools no longer have to wait for an annual audit to know where they stand. Using POSI’s assessment instrument, administrators and safety teams self-assess across all 94 zones — identifying gaps, tracking progress, and improving continuously. Safety becomes a year-round discipline, not a once-a-year exercise.

When a school completes a POSI assessment, its profile is marked school self-verified — a designation the public can see and trust.

For Everyone Else: Search Any School in America

This is what has never existed before.

On the POSI website, any parent, grandparent, teacher, or community member can search any K-12 school in the country and see safety information for that school. Schools that have not yet engaged with POSI display baseline information drawn from the Google Maps Platform geo data. Schools that have completed POSI self-assessments display the deeper, school self-verified picture.

Either way, the public can finally look. That capability does not exist anywhere else.

Why This Matters

Half the country is connected to a K-12 school. Every one of them deserves the ability to ask a simple question — how safe is my child’s school? — and get a real answer.

POSI is the only place that answer lives.

Search your school today at POSI website. Share it with your district. Ask your superintendent when your school will be school self-verified. The standard is here. The search is open. The next move belongs to your community.
