Our Story

Our non-profit and non-partisan organization ‘Protecting Our Students’ is established to eliminate gun shooting fatalities and injuries in our K 12 school systems.

That’s why we want to introduce you to POSSafetyNet℠, a cutting-edge digital-age technology solution developed by Protecting Our Students specifically designed to keep students safe by identifying vulnerabilities and proactively providing specific recommendations for improvement.

The non-profit’s undertaking is to provide a standardized and universal safety and security policy for schools across the nation that are struggling with the cost of meeting today’s safety and security needs.

Through our supporters and donors, schools are now positioned to implement and operate from an up-to-date and best-practice universal safety and security policy, with procedures and strategies that achieve this vital school assignment with  POSSafetyNet.

Based on the founders’ personal experiences and history regarding family member losses, our dedication is focusing on K 12 school gun safety policies so that no family member has to experience another’s premature loss of life; incredibly, individual students when they are beginning, continuing, expanding and growing their lives on American campuses.

”We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”

– Winston Churchill

The brother’s vision, along with their cousin Jane, is that much of what can be done to prevent harm begins in our K 12 school systems and that in a country with more guns — nearly 400 million — than people, protecting our students is the fundamental emphasis for this charitable cause.

Briefly stated, the two brothers come from a Family of nine, the second oldest and the second youngest. Two parents and seven boys complete the Family. Today there are three family members left; themselves and the middle brother John. Of the sons, 1, 3, 5 & 7 have passed, thus leaving 2, 4 & 6. Their first loss came when they were only seventeen and nine years old. The loss of a brother in the Viet Nam war in 1967. Today, they have lived over five decades and, on average, have lost one Family member per decade of their life cycle.

POS is deeply passionate in its undertaking and has made this mission our personal obligatory drive. Too many of us, either directly or indirectly, have been affected by gun violence. In fact, in any given month, there will likely be an incident of active shooter gun violence on an American campus. Together, we help to prevent this from happening – with donor support from individuals like yourself.
